Matthew Sermon 57 – Mat 18.21-35 – How Often Shall I Forgive?

There is no such thing as receiving forgiveness without turning to God, and there is no such thing as turning to God without starting to become like Him. (Eph 5.1.) One thing you know for sure about God is that he forgave you. So if you find a disciple who won’t forgive, you know their problem lies much deeper than their own unforgivingness. For one thing, they haven’t truly understood and embraced the forgiveness that God has given them. Being forgiven is priceless, but it doesn’t make us like God. Forgiving does. I hope you enjoy the sermon. Thanks for listening. -Alan Burrow
