Lord’s Day prayer

We extol you, O God our Father,

For you have lifted us up and have not let our enemies rejoice over us. 

We cried to you for help,

And you healed us.  You brought up our souls from Sheol. 

We sing praise to you

And give thanks to your holy name. 

For your anger is but for a moment,

Your favor is for a lifetime. 

You have taken away our night of weeping

And brought us joy in the morning. 

You have loosed our sackcloth

And girded us with gladness. You have  turned our mourning into dancing. 

So we will not be silent. 

We will give thanks to you forever. 

May heaven and earth and all that is in them praise you O Father, together with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, who live and reign with you above, one God, from everlasting to everlasting.  Amen.
