Children’s Sunday School
All of our Children’s Sunday School classes meet every Sunday (including the summer) from 9:30-10:30 am. Talented leaders use fun, interactive lessons from the latest Hands-On Bible curriculum to help youngsters create, build, and strengthen their relationship with Jesus. In addition, each class has a specific learning objective for our Children’s Day Program in May.

Pre-school (ages 3 & 4)—Room 7 Leader: Janel Spotts

We teach our youngest students how to build a relationship with Jesus using big book stories, games, puppets and crafts. By Children’s Day, the class will understand and recite the John 3:16 Bible passage.

Kindergarten & Grade 1—Room 23 Leader: Debbie Burger
Helpers: Megan & Kelly Burger
We teach the beginning lessons of Christianity, to start a foundation that the children may build upon. Our Children’s Day goal is to learn the Lord’s Prayer.

Grade 2—Room 27 Leader: Joslyn Stewart
Games, crafts and interactive Bible messages help teach important Bible themes. By Children’s Day in May, second graders will know and recite the Apostles’ Creed.

Grade 3—Room 24 Leader: David Modricker
Classes involve a variety of Hands-On activities including games, puzzles, role-playing and exploring the Bible. By Children’s Day, third graders will know the Ten Commandments.

Grades 4 & 5—Room 20 Leaders: Stephanie Motherbaugh & Tanna Pugh
Students learn to navigate through the Bible with fun puzzles and games. By Children’s Day, the class will know the order of all the books in the New and Old Testaments.

Children’s Church
Children’s Church occurs during the second half of the 10:45 am Worship service, following the Children’s Moment, for all children in Pre-K (age 4 yrs) to 2nd grade. Qualified adults lead children in Biblically based activities, crafts or games. Children’s Church leaders for each Sunday are listed in the bulletin. Parents are asked to collect their children at the end of the worship service.

Safe Sanctuary Policy
To protect our children and youth, Faith United Methodist Church has adopted a Safe Sanctuary policy that requires all persons working with children and youth to have background clearances and to demonstrate minimum requirements. A copy of the policy is available for review in the church office.

Adult Sunday School
Six Adult Sunday School classes address a variety of topics related to Christian life. New friends are warmly welcomed to enjoy our fellowship and learning every Sunday from 9:30-10:30 am in the Adult Education Wing.

Defender of Faith—Room 43 Leader: Harry Shope
Loving and caring adults meet weekly to share the love and word of our Lord and Savior through adult Bible studies.

Dependables—Room 51 Leader: Donna Stewart
Our class starts with hymns and uses the International Bible Studies series. We incorporate questions, discussion, rewards, and fellowship, as we reach out to those in need.

Discipleship—Room 40 Leader: Rev. Doyle Klinger

We study the Gospel of John to learn who Christ is and how disciples can follow Christ.

Fellowship—Room 49 Leaders: Carl & Carol Boone, Bob McDowell & Al Nestor
Our class explores various books of the Bible while enjoying time with fellow Christians and praying for those in need.

Foundations—Room 47 Leader: Dick Snyder

Our class is for adults of all ages who desire to learn more about being a Christian. Varied subject matter includes individual books of the Bible as well as topics suggested by class members.

Friends of Faith—Room 45 Leaders: Nanette Grove & Vickie Henry
This class offers a safe environment for people of all ages and backgrounds to share their concerns and life struggles. The class chooses discussion topics and spiritually based literature to review.

Youth Sunday School
Youth Sunday School classes meet every Sunday (including the summer) from 9:30-10:30 am. Dedicated leaders use various resources to help pre-teens and teens understand and practice a Christian lifestyle.

Grade 6—Room 21 Leaders: Julia & David Hall
In our class, we explore the Beatitudes, and how the teachings of Jesus relate to the everyday life of our pre-teen students. We use games, role play, projects, and discussion to involve all students.

Grades 7 & 8—Room 8/9 Leaders: Amy & Kent Laubscher

In our class we learn practical ways to apply Biblical teachings to everyday life situations. Together we move through the early teen years with the word of God as our guide.

Senior High (grades 9 to 12)—Room 41 Leaders: Betty & David Dimmick

We study material designed to help us function as Christians in a non-Christian world. The atmosphere is relaxed and open, and all discussion is considered to be confidential.

Nursery Care
To help parents of young children attend Adult Sunday School classes, Nursery Care is available during the 9:30 to 10:30 am Sunday School hour. Qualified adults supervise children under three (3) years of age in a safe, child friendly classroom. Children ages three (3) years and above may attend their own, age-appropriate Sunday School class (see Children’s Sunday School above).

Vacation Bible School
Children, ages 3 to fifth grade, have the opportunity to attend a fun-filled week of Vacation Bible School each summer. Adults and youth lead various activities for a few hours in the evening, as children from Faith Church, and from the Bellefonte community, come to worship Christ through music, games, crafts, snacks and inspiring Bible lessons. Co-coordinators: Dan Christopher and Barb McKinley
